2 mins late to check in - denied

To cut a long story short: I was 2 mins late to check into a flight and the cunstomer service person refused to check me in. This was at queenstown airport which is a tiny place with no airport security and no real reason to insist on a 30 min check in cut off. I fly a lot, usually a few times a week (though very rarely with Jokestar for obvious reasons) and Virgin, Qantas and Air New Zealand will usually let you check in a few minutes late if you have no bags and there's a good reason for it. Anyway, Jokestar clearly like to differentiate themselves from their competition by providing rubbish service.

The staff at Jetstar are nothing but a bunch of insolent sadists. They love it that you're 2 min late. They just made some easy money off you and gave absolutely nothing in return.

Same here, checked in 2-3 minutes late. Using my Text Message itinery which says NOTHING about 30minute prior check-in. they don't give a fuck. They are the most insensitive people, there customer service isn't customer service it is pure sales marketing to get as much money from you as possible. I HATE this airline. DESPISE THEM. I will not ever fly with them again. Pure EVIL incompetent inhumane Sales company. I will spread my disdain towards them and encourage people NOT to fly with Jokester. Can not believe a plane can be docked, NO people boarded and a 5 minute walk to the gate and these incompetent idiots, cannot process your ticket due to incompetency. jetstar has now become Jokester to me. Horrible experience, unhappy customer, double the price due to THERE incompetencies. Congratulations jokester, you win Worst Airline EVER award.

thats your fault and its good of jetstar having this policy because it means theres no waiting around for the late people and the plane takes off on time usually getting to the destination earlier... sorry but you should get there earlier like everyone else

For God sakes! If you arrive late it's your own fault!! When the check in time closes, the completed manifest is sent up to the flight deck to give the all clear to depart. The pilots have paperwork to go through to get the ok to take off. If you are late you are causing further delay. It takes more than a few minutes to off load bags already on planes. Just arrive on time. I assume you have all flown before on other airlines and they all have the same 30-40 min (domestic), 2-3hrs (international) before departure check in times.
