Arriving On time

Well, get up early, zoom to the airport, rushing to make a 7am flight with my girlfriend.

We get to the airport at 6:25am, duck the trolley-rails, run through the door, bolt up the escalator and run over to the ticket-terminals.

We pounch in the details of the flight, it prints a "non boarding pass" saying too late for checkin, see attendant.

We stand in line, see the attendant, she says "you missed your flight, go to desk 34 or 35". We go to desk 35, the lovely lady says we have to get a new flight, as we where late to the original one.

The gate-staff where rude, non-emotional and straight up cold and heartless about it, "your late sir, go here", and then calling up the next people while we stood there baffled!

I am sorry, but all their literature says be there 30 minutes before the flight to check in, the printed docket from THEIR TERMINAL says we got there at 06:30 hours for checkin to a 07:00 hours flight, that's 30 minutes by my calculations. And the fact it was THEIR machine's time means what our clocks, watches, and mobile phones where displaying is irrelivant, their own clocks confirmed we arraived "ontime".

The service desk staff that issued us new tickets for $150 said "the terminals are slower, so your flight would have been paging to get guests to come to the desk".

In my mind, NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! If your shutting the flights dead on the 30 minute mark, tell patrons to get to the airport 45 minutes early, if I was a few minutes over, I wouldnt be so angry about it, but the non-boarding pass states I was there 30 minutes before the flight, as per my requirements from their instructions.

Jetstar, you owe me $150!!!!

Absolutely no excuse for the

Absolutely no excuse for the rudeness you encountered but c'mon - arriving at dead on half an hour is chancing it a bit. I think you know you should have got there even five minutes earlier and that's why you are so angry.

Err Buddy your itinerary

Err Buddy your itinerary states that check-in closes strictly 30 mins before schedule departure, and boarding passes say to be at the boarding gate 30 mins before departure. You're in the wrong. Just build a bridge.
And what do you expect the staff to do other than tell you the correct desk you need to go to? Listen to your story about why you're late, even though theres nothing they're able to do about it? Did it cross your mind that they probably get peoples excuses for being late all day long ?
