Avoid Jetstar at all costs

My son, his partner and 2 little grandsons had their Jetstar flight from Sydney cancelled late last night due to weather, fair enough, safety always comes first. They weren't offered overnight accommodation, fair enough it says that on their policy. They were given a list of near by accommodation to call- all booked out, nothing available. They were then kicked out of the terminal and directed to spend the night at the McDonalds across the road, which they had to do , my grandsons sleeping on seats in a booth.
The earliest flight home offered today was 1220, but that would take them to Tullamarine, not Avalon where their car is ( racking up the $40 a day parking charges ).
Would Jetstar provide transport to Avalon? No that was their problem.
Their 1220 flight has just left at 3pm, racking up 18 hours for them at Sydney airport...no offer of a shower for the boys or even a free drink, just rude dismissive staff.
I have been trying since 5am to contact someone from Jetstar to help get them home and the best they could,do was an overseas call centre who couldn't help unless I wanted to purchase flights and a customer service email that advised they would endeavor to get back to me within the next 15 days !
#Jetstar, I would crawl to my destination on broken glass before I would fly with you again.
And if I see one more #Geelong Advertiser article slamming us locals for not utilizing Avalon ( therefore Jetstar) I will personally roll up that newspaper and ram it up the editors bum!
