Bitch from Hell

So glad to have finally found a site that deals with this dreadful rip-off merchant. It's a few years now, but I see nothing has changed.

I'm English, live in Cambodia but have family in Australia. I went to Australia on an extended 9 month visit and, for my return flight, bought a JetStar ticket online. Waiting in line at Melbourne airport, I noticed trouble up front in the queue: one woman in tears and then an Israeli shouting and waving his arms until the police arrived and took him away. I smelled trouble. When I went to the desk and produced my one-way ticket to Bangkok, the woman smirked and asked me for my onward ticket. I told her I would be taking the bus from Bangkok to Cambodia. She asked me for my bus ticket and I told her she was being ridiculous. She told me I would not be allowed to fly without an onward airline ticket (aren't we supposed to by trying to cut down on flying). She gave such a lame excuse: JetStar was responsible, financially, for me should I be stopped at the border. Someone else had done it and it had cost them $2,000. On my flight alone they had stopped 3 of us, so they must have been making a few bob on each flight. I asked for a refund of the taxes that were included in the flight price. After all, if I'm not leaving then the tax is not payable. NO. All I am required to produce is proof of the wherewithal to afford a visit the country - I know - I live here. When I asked for a higher authority she informed me that there was none. Sure enough, after I had scoured upstairs, there was none. I asked staff from other airlines and they said: don't ask us JetStar is a law unto itself. I had to tear up my ticket and buy another one with a different, friendlier airline and stop off in Kuala Lumpur instead, at great added expense. I promised the bitch that I would spend the rest of my life putting others off flying with this dreadful company.
