Cancelled flight

Jet Star, what a nightmare. I thought I would share my experience with you all in case you’re thinking of booking a flight with them. I received an email informing me my flight had been cancelled, no big deal I thought, if you fly a lot it’s bound to happen, what happened next though I was not prepared for. I rang the number as advised on the email and finally spoke to someone at the Jet star call centre who informed me that Yes my flight had been cancelled, I then asked them to put me on the next available flight, after about 5-10 minutes of going back and forth the lady on the phone informed me that she could not book me on a flight as I had already checked in, I said that was ridicules, I’ve had lots of other flights cancelled with other airlines and they were always able to book me on the next available flight, anyway after a few more minutes of me telling the operator that this was ludicrous I asked to be put through to her manager who once again repeated the same thing, when I pressed him on the issue he said there was 24 seats available on the 7.15 flight and that I should go to the airport, I told him I was reluctant to do that as the seats may have all gone by the time I arrived and that he should reserve a seat and I would pick up my boarding pass at the check in counter, no, could not be done, I would just have to go to the Airport.

Well I did go to the airport, I did wait in line for 20 minutes and yes you guessed it, when I got to the counter, surpriseeeeeeeee there were no tickets left for that flight, when I told the staff what had happened to me and what incredible bad service they have, well judging by the people that went before me I guess as they say its water of a ducks back. I asked for and have been promised a full refund in 10 days (if this morning is anything to go by it will probably be 30). To end it all I received a $20 bill for parking my car so that I could be told in person that YES my flight had been cancelled and that there were no seats left on the 7.15 flight. Well Done Jet Star, if you’re trying to help your big brother Qantas get additional customers I think YOU ARE doing a fine job.
