DELAYED AND CHARGED 288 ON TOP OF THAT?!

I was travelling today to Wellington and my partner was travelling with his step brother who is only 16 to Christchurch for a tournament. His father accidentally put the ticket in his name and my partner asked if they could do a simple swap since it is still a family member. NOPE, 350 dollars please. TYPICAL JETSHIT. It would not be that hard to change the name but they understood that we could not leave him there, resulted in us losing $288.00 to another airline with much better service. On top of that both our flights were delayed, I was delayed four hours and told every half an hour we will be boarding to be told to sit down each time saying engineers are not letting the plane fly. How do you explain 5 planes being delayed in one day? Must have extremely quality planes. When I finally did make it on the plane it was a complete and utter mess, food everywhere and my travel plans were disrupted. Jetstar does this every single time. My partner last time missed the flight 30 minute window by one minute and we rang to let them know (he only had carry on luggage) and was forced to pay $350.00 to get somewhere important. I do not understand this lack of customer service. This airline is not THAT budget, I paid over 100 for my ticket today to be delayed by so many hours. It is unacceptable. NO MORE JETSTAR.

My family regularly fly

My family regularly fly between Newcastle and Melbourne and regularly fly with Jetstar, statistcally we have found that almost one in three of our flights are cancelled, previously we have been offered bus travel to Sydney to catch flights or return from there - today JQ475 was cancelled and the only option given was just catch the next flight available (10 hours later) and wait around the airport, or make your own way (with no vehicle available) to Sydney for another flight from there. Although our flight is only a short domestic flight, it is still important and our time valuable. Jetstars schedule and Newcastle airport are convenient but the inconvenience of cancelled flights and erratic reliability with delayed departures - we will not be travelling Jetstar anymore, cheap or not.

Air NZ charge for name

Air NZ charge for name changes too depending on the fare. It purely is a money making scam from the airlines but more so from Low Cost airlines as they make most of their money from ancillary services.

It doesn't matter whether you're 30 seconds late or 10 mins. If you have check in bags, that usually delays the flight by 30 mins because the pilots have to recalculate the passenger/bag/fuel loadings, resubmit the paperwork and the cargo hold needs to open and closed again. Airlines get charged a lot of money for late departures and those charges will be passed on to consumers. Do you want to be the last person on after causing a half hour delay?
