Extortionate excess baggage fee!

Angry doesn't even cut how I feel about Jetstar.

I purposely bought a small cabin carry on case (Size: 52cm x 32cm x 26.5cm) to fit in with airlines guidelines and so that I don't take a bag oversized bags onto a plane! So tell me why other customers don't comply to your sizing requirements and take two large bags into the cabin BUT I had to pay an extortionate rate of $50 to put this case in the hull of the plane??

I can ill afford this amount!

I went to great lengths to ensure I was carrying the correct bag size and a very small purse. I was also told that I could only take one piece of luggage on the plane and your boarding pass states that you can have a carry bag plus a handbag. Please also note that I was not stopped or queried on the outbound flight from Brisbane but was treated like a criminal by their ground staff in Cairns and was told I wouldn't be able to fly if I didn't pay the $50. That is ridiculous and is basically harassment. I cannot afford this fee of $50 but I had no choice to pay it, as I couldn't leave my $200 suitcase and its contents just so I could board my flight home.

Great way Jetstar to leave a bad taste in peoples mouths and I ensure that I will be cancelling and future travel and will be advising others to do so also.

Bottom line is you can only

Bottom line is you can only take 7kg max as hand luggage. Did you exceed 7kg?

Seems like a lot of people

Seems like a lot of people are not happy with the 7kg max and $50 penalty. I tried HelloArthur. They transferred 10kg of my clothes and toiletries from Brisbane to Sydney and return. My clothes were also washed and ironed. Fairly new service with $500 insurance included. Hope it will catch up. Check them out: www.helloarthur.com
