extremely poor customer service

My son, who is only 13 and never been away from home was to board a flight JQ524 to fly from Melbourne to Sydney on the 6/1/11, sheduled to depart at 18.00pm. We arrived at 15.30pm and checked in and waited at gate 27 where we were told. 17.30pm arrived and hadnt even heard aything, i approached the customer desk, and asked if we were waitnig at the right gateway, he then told us that it just has been delayed and boarding time was now at 20.00pm and departing time was 20.30pm. i could understand if the weather witheld flights, but it was a perfect day, they had no plane or gateway now for this sheduled time.If i wanted a flight at this time i would have booked one, and relatives were in sydney airport waiting for him. Poor customer service when approached, one lady just walked off whilst we were speaking to her, and couldnt even get us on a earlier flight, they just showed to empathy at all!! Had to rebook another flight at 18.45pm, with Virgin and pay for this flight. Rang customer service the next day to get a refund as its there fault, after being on the phone for 20minutes, given the round, spoke nothing but bullshit, refused to give back refund, wouldnt even put the manager on when customer asked, after 20minutes then was told to send a letter to Jetstar Customer Relationship. Why on gods earth would i bother to write a letter for nothing, there a bloody joke!! Well you think this stories bad, 4months ago my husband and two sons were surpose to be returning back from sydney to melbourne after a funeral with jetstar, were told it was leaving from domestic, but left from international terminal, which made them 8minutes late for booking in, as they were initially at domestic, there seats were taken and couldnt even get on another flight until next day. This was no good as my son had to sit a exam at university on that day. Had to spent $1,000dollars for them to fly home with virgin that night, once again refung was refused. So far they have ripped me off $1,220.00. This would have to be the worst flight service you could fly with, so please really think twice before booking a cheap ticket with them, as it really turns out to be expensive!!! Jetstar you should be ashamed of yourselfs, shit what happened to the saying"the customer is always right". Thumbs up for Virgin Blue, customer service was lovely and also very helpful. Jetstar i suggest your service should take some tips of Virgin Blue.

There is an art to flying budget airlines. If your like me and have half an idea about air travel then you would not have ended up a grand down. However Virgin Blue is better I agree. Jetstar only really cater for the smart experienced air travellers.
