I will never fly Jetstar again - I don't care how cheap they are

Every single time I have flown with Jetstar it has ruined my holiday. The website rarely works, they heavily advertise but do not have enough staff to meet the obvious demand created, and do not respond to complaints. On a trip to Melbourne, our flight was cancelled at the last minute, and no attempt was made to accommodate the varying needs of passengers,

The no name change clause is an absolute crime and a blatant rort. How can it possibly be necessary to cancel and and re-book a ticket, rather than simply change the name of the booking? I do not object to paying a reasonable transfer fee but I do object to having to pay an extra $300 to reissue a ticket for the same seat on the same plane.

It is not worth saving $50 on a ticket to be treated badly and to waste hours of valuable time trying to deal with an incompetent organisation. Never again.

I couldn't agree more. I

I couldn't agree more. I booked cheap flights for me and my partner and our infant to visit my sister in Adelaide more than 10 months in advance. I gave them plenty of notice (1 month) that I wanted to change the name from my partner's to my mother's name because he got a new job and had no leave. I expected to have to pay $70 each way for the name change (which in itself is a rort given that I'm sure they can do it with a few keystrokes), but it turned out I had to pay $380 all up (and a $30 call centre charge, on top of the 2 x $70 fee change charges and fare difference). I paid only $300 total for the two original flights.

I then tried to use a voucher my mother had been issued after Jetstar cancelled an earlier flight she had been on. And they told me that it had expired, even though it hadn't even been issued yet (and the expiration on the "apology" letter said it would expire 3 months from the issue date, not from the original date of her "cancelled" travel). Eventually got them to reissue the voucher but by then the amount had gone up a further $100.

They are a total rip off. And this is disgusting, predatory price gouging of the highest order.

"Every single time I have

"Every single time I have flown with Jetstar it has ruined my holiday." Why are you still flying Jetstar? Seriously, why do people reward airlines with their continued patronage after being shafted? It amazes me. Jeststar stuffed me around once. I complained and asked for a refund which I didn't get, until I utilised the services of the airline advocate. Because Jetstar stuffed me around, I haven't used their service again. That was over 4 years ago and I've never had a problem since. Use another airline!
