Jetstar refused to provide me a receipt after I paid to JetStar on jetstar.com.au using a Jetstar flight booking number for purchased seats on Jetstar.

Here is the ACCC rule first, Mr and Mrs Jetstar:

Quote "Businesses must always give you a receipt or proof of purchase for anything over $75. If they don't, ask for one. You also have the right to request a receipt for anything under $75 and the receipt must be given within seven days of asking. A receipt or proof of purchase must include the: supplier’s name and ABN or ACN, date of supply, product or service, price".

But Jetstar refused to provide me a receipt I paid to JetStar on jetstar.com.au via PayPal using a Jetstar flight booking number xxxxx for my purchases of advanced seat allocation on Jetstar flights.

I booked a Sydney to Bali return flights for 2 passengers departing 6 May 2017 using my Qantas frequent flyer points with Qantas. Qantas issued to ticket (Ref yyyyy) but the flights are operated by Jetstar with flight number JQ37&JQ38. I was given a Jetstar booking number xxxxx.

I therefore went on to jetstar.com.au quoting my Jetstar booking ref xxxx, paid for the seats to JetStar on 27/03/2017. The Jetstar website after the successful of payment indicated a confirmation email will be sent to me in 24 hours.

I have never received an email from Jetstar nor a receipt. I contacted Jetstar on 15/04/2017, and was told I was not a Jetsar customer therefore they will not issue receipt to me, and I need to contact Qantas which I did. Qantas was trying to facilitate with Jetstar however Jetstar insisted they will not provide a receipt to me when Qantas agent and I spoke to JetStar customer Manager Trevors at 2:47pm on 15/04/2017. Jetstar agent "Bealyn Anne" has encouraged me to contact ACCC when I advised them their practice of not providing recepit is against the law.

I was not satisfied the fact that JetStar was unable/unwilling to provide me a receipt for my payment of $122.92 to JetStar. I then cancelled the tickets with them and will be flying Garuda Indonesia. But JetStar Manager Trevors advised that this seats purchase was not refundable by Jetstar.

I agree with our consensus here that I will never fly Jetstar.
