JETSTAR TOLD US OUR FLIGHT WAS CANCELLED THEN WE FOUND OUT IT WASN'T

Ok so I have been a loyal customer of Jetstar's for the past couple of years despite people bagging them out, they were so much cheaper than Qantas and Virgin and also they are the only carrier to fly direct from Townsville to Melbourne. Well this trip turned out to be the most expensive trip ever!

The first burn was a couple of months back. I received an e-mail advising that the days we chose to fly no longer had direct flights available and long connecting flights were picked for us instead. From what was a 3 hour journey then turned into an 11 hour journey so I asked to change the flights to another day with direct flights and apparently this was ok to do as I had a bundle but would have to pay the fare difference which of course turned out to be $300 more than what we paid as we booked the flight on sale. At the time of this change the prices advertised on their site weren't even that much but they wore me down and i coughed up the additional $300 as I wanted to fly direct. We were going to Soundwave festival and with the change of flights it turned out that we were now flying the night before the festival which I normally like to go 2 days before in case there is an issue. Which of course there was!

So the 20th of February rolled around and a couple of hours before we were due to go to the airport I received a call from Jetstar advising that our flight had been cancelled and they could book us on their next flight which wouldn't get us to Melbourne until 11pm the next night however the festival started at 12 so we needed to be there before than. I asked them to refund me the money and had to book connecting flights with Qantas the next day who got us there by 1.30 so we missed the beginning of the festival as well as being incredibly tired as we had to catch the red eye. We also had to pay $900 for this flight so now we were up $1200 from my original booking.

I told a friend of mine what had happened and she was at the hairdresser and her hairdresser said that she too was on that flight and called Jetstar up as she hadn't heard anything. They told her that no the flight was no cancelled and was on time. I then called our local airport and they advised me that the flight was still scheduled however it was a smaller plane so they had to kick people off the flight. I was furious especially since I had booked this flight 6 months in advance as well as checked in the day before online. I am still waiting on my refund for the "cancelled flight" as well as the claim I put through for the loss of $200 accommodation and $900 we had to pay to get another flight because they simply kicked us off. I WILL NEVER FLY WITH THESE LIARS EVER AGAIN!

Good luck with the refund. It

Good luck with the refund. It will be a miracle but we will keep our fingers crossed for you. As the man says, keep on flying these jerks and it's only a matter of time before you are stung and writing your sad story on this page. It's only a matter of time !!

Thank you Amir.... The right

Thank you Amir.... The right thing for them to do would be to reimburse me but I don't hold high hopes. I just received my refund for the flight they kicked us off of and my future flights that I cancelled with them thankfully.
