My flight was meant to be on 29th of April 2011 from goldcoast to Auckland , and the counter closes 1 hour before the flight and I was just six minutes late and I was not allowed to get on that flight , and I had to pay 80 $ to move my flight to the next day , the next day I come and jetstar announces 1 hour delay for the flight and all I get is we apologize for the delay !!!? Is that fair !?? I am late six minute for the check in time closing and your are 1 hour delayed and all I get is we apologize !! Where shall I cash it and get my 80 $ ???
Seriously wouldn't recommend anyone to fly jetstar pay more and fly a descent airline and never go on a jetstar

Rashed - This is 150% your issue, not the airlines. All airlines have check in closing times. All airlines can not add you to the manifest (passenger list) after the checkin is closed and the captain receives the paperwork. The fact is you were late. Move on.
Furthermore, all airlines have delayed. I was last week delayed by Qantas for an hour. Prior to that Virgin Blue delayed me 45 mins.
Best of luck trying your luck with other carriers. Try Tiger, I hear that they are VERY flexible with check in times.... hahaha

jetstarsux, who'd want to be mates with you? :D And whatever you're saying doesn't make sense. Have you ever watched that Tiger Airways show, or those US/UK based Airport shows? People miss flights all over the world due to coming after check in closes. It's happened to me on Qantas. Even if you fly a "descent" airline (as so brilliantly spelled by Rashed - a typical example of your average Jetstar budget customer) it is likely to happen if you turn up late.
