BOOKING REFERENCE
To whom it may concern,
My name is Simon Smith and at the present moment I am stuck at Sunshine Coast Airport waiting to catch JQ 797 TO Melbourne. The flight was scheduled to depart at 1645 AEST. As I noticed on your mobile app, the flight said "on time." As a matter of fact at check in, the Jetstar representative even told us that the flight would be arriving early at MCY.
As soon as we checked in an announcement came over the PA advising passengers of this service that the Captain of the inbound flight had made the decision to divert to Brisbane due to a fault of some kind, hence delaying the passengers. It is currently 1851 PM and we have just been advised that a replacement p!ane has been sent from BNE.
I fully understand the strict requirements that must be put in place in order for a captain and his crew to carry out safe operations but it seems to me that you’re ops team don't know what they are doing or simply don't care.
Do you know how I know this?
1. I have a Bachelor of Technology (Air Transportation Management) and have worked In Aviation Consultancy.
2. The Exact same occurrence delayed my father and I in Late 2014.........EXACT SAME PROBLEM (Same Airport, Same Aircraft type, Same Route, Same diversion and no logistics plan (Perhaps bussing the passengers to BNE to utilise a spare Aircraft, which would have been a cheaper option, given the fact that you just handed everyone on the flight $8 vouchers.) By the way we have just been told a spare aircraft is being flown from BNE to MCY! What a coincidence.
We all treasure our holidays and to know that you simply don't particularly care about you’re customers is concerning. Plus I could have had an extra day at the beach.
I demand to know what you are going to do about this. I come up here a LOT, and if you don’t reply and tell me what you are going to about this issue I will never fly Jetstar on this route again and will discourage others from doing so.
