No Extra Leg Room for $40.

A few days ago I had a flight scheduled with shitstar departing on the 16th at 6am from Sydney Intl airport. The night before I recevied an SMS from shitstar detailing the changes that were to be made to my itinerary. The new flight time was just 20mins after the orginal scheduled time. No problems, I thought. Just 20mins? Piece of cake.
But the piece of cake, quickly turned into a shit-pie.

About 2 hours after this SMS I received a phonecall from the shitstar customer "service" desk.
The flight had been cancelled...
They told me to call the shitstar branch of Sydney Airport to arrange alternative plans. I did that and scheduled the flight for the following morning. Still baffled by the sudden cancellation, just one hour after the flight was changed, I asked the staff member on the phone as to the reasons for the cancellation,

"Oh... there werent enough tools on the plane..." she said.

Not enough tools on the plane. So theres a predetermined amount of tools rquired for every plane to have onboard? For fuc's sake...

Anyway I got the flight the next morning, same seat and everything, but I didnt have the leg room I paid the extra $40 for on the original flight. I inquired about this to the cabin crew, who responded,

"Yeah, well you have to book it again if you want it."
I said, "But the flight was cancelled. Why should I have to pay it AGAIN?"

"Well," she began. "The flight was cancelled... you see...so you have to buy it again, too."

I was getting no help from her so I called the customer sefice desk and told them about this wretched fuck-up. HIs response,

"Call the head customer service desk in Melbourne."

Needless to say I won't bother calling them. They took $40 from me and robbed me of one day of my holiday then had the gaul to tell me they couldnt give me the thing that I had paid for. They are nothing but cheap, petty crook and hustlers. How the fuck they have been able to remain in buisness is anyone's guess.

Never, EVER, again.

Advice dont fly this airline or Qantas again tiger is ok, but Virgin Blue is the way to go :)

Unless you involve your local

Unless you involve your local MP and the Dept of Transport these kind of customer abuses will continue to happen with increasing regularity, Do us all a favor write your MP with your complaint so that in time we get legislation to force openness and honesty when these things happen. Do it today. The only way is to have a bank of complaints sitting in the files of the legislators that will cause them to act in the interest of consumers who are continually having their custom abused.

Involving your MP or the DEPT of TRANSPORT is useless, our governments signed away all our rights with these stupid treaties which allow airlines and airports for that matter to treat us like sheep, jetstar just seems to be better at taking advantage of the rules, and get away with it. Vote with your money and fly another airline....
