THE PEACFULNESS OF BALI.......CUT SHORT BY JETSTAR!

Following on from my first post (if you haven't read, I was due to spend Xmas & NYE visiting my Mum for my first trip to Oz, but had to cancel my plans due to starting a new job) so part of my trip was to visit the peacful island of Bali and get in touch with my spiritual side......but thanks to Jetscar I now need to book a buddhist retreat after pulling my hair out!
So as seems customary with Jetscar (my name for this wonderful company) their website isn't sufficient to allow you to manage your booking - meaning you have to call their call centre or allow them to make the changes for you. Of course this is at a higher rate than it would cost if you were able to make the changes yourself. But another way they make their money by ripping of customers.
This forces you to talk to their incompetent staff working from the Philippines call centre who bless them can only read off their scripts, so are limited with what they can say. This particular guy "Marc" (not his real name as they pick from a list to make themselves sound more approachable) spent an hour of my day NOT answering my question to allow my mum permission to make changes to the flight SHE booked and SHE paid for under my name. Apparently as my name is on the flight i have to authorise this - I pity anyone who mis-types their name and is stuck with a flight for "John Smoth" then trying to find someone on the planet named John Smoth to call up for them :)
So after talking crap with "Marc" for an hour and him giving me a variety of additonal fees and fares that I will need to pay to transfer my flight to my Mums friend.......he ends the conversation!
All I asked him to do was give my Mum permission to make the changes, which I guess there wasn't a script for.
So after speaking with another operative I find this time I will need to pay an additional $600 for flights to be changed (original return fare was $400) at these crazy rates of inflation - the Execs of Jetscar must be travelling in solid gold Jets across the skies!
Again I urge you guys to stop travelling with these cowboys. You may think you are getting a low cost fare - but they will sting you in the end and you will joing the 1000's online who are sick of being treated in this manner.
I will make it to Oz - but it wont be via Jetscar!

The problem is you only find

The problem is you only find out that they're a shit firm when you get a problem... I'd flown with them a few times before but after the crap I had to go through and read what all the people posting on this site were saying, I don't use them.
And its really up to us to make sure that we tell anyone who is thinking of using them not to. Make sure you like this site so its seen on your facebook page.
I was actually thinking of getting T-shirts made with the dontflyjetstar.com logo and wearing it every time I went threw the airport.

we fly jetstar every year

we fly jetstar every year sydney to denpasar, and have never had a problem, always been on time, only once jetstar changed our flight, and it was 10 mins later big deal!! we have always got a sale fare, without any problem, I myself regard safety as first priority and jetstar has a good record. Its sad to see all these complaints, but there are probably good stories too which outweigh the bad.

It's good Kerryn to see that

It's good Kerryn to see that at least you haven't had much problem with Jetstar, YET. There is plenty of time and I promise you if you fly this despicable company, they will eventually sting you too. Also remember that for every one person who complains on this site (or on Jetstar's own Facebook site) there are probably another 150-200 passengers on the same flight that did not bother to complain when their flight was cancelled. Their Facebook is full of various complaints. So with great respect I think you idea that the good outweighs the bad is most probably over optimistic. You are being too kind to them
