pissed off travellers

Myself and 6 other fellow travellers were due to fly out of Sydney to Phuket on the 13th October 2014, I receive a text early that morning to say our flight was delayed 24hrs, no explanation was given. My kids we devastated, as this was their fist trip overseas and had been waiting 6 months for this day to arrive. We had to contact our hotel and advise them of the situation, what a nightmare.
Our return flight however was even more of a nightmare due to wrong informations given to us by one of your staff. We had got off our flight from Phuket, which was an hour late due to the storms in Melbourne that morning, we still had to get from Melbourne to Sydney after a 2 hour stop over. We had never had to do this before, as we usually take direct flight, but due to the the 24hour delay on our flight over to Phuket we decided to stay an extra 2 days and this was the only option we had.
Your staff member informed us that we had to go through customs and over to the Jetstar domestic terminal. On arriving over there we spoke to another staff member and were told we had missed the flight back to Sydney, the next available flight was in 5 hours time. WTF. I asked how we had missed the flight as it wasn't due to fly out for 1 hour, she replied because we had come through customs and that we couldn't go back through customs once we had come out (thanks staff member for wrong information). How can we fix this, I ask if our flights to Sydney could be transfer over to Qantas or another airline (hoping for an earlier flight) , sorry sir we cannot transfer flights (grrr). The staff member gives us all an $8 voucher for the inconvenience ($8 voucher that we would be lucky to get a bottle of water with), I ask your staff member where the best place to sit and be comfortable whilst we wait 5 hours for our next flight, she rudely replies "it's an airport there are plenty off seats".
Then the story of our baggage we are all freezing. Our baggage arrives 2 hours later with 2 out of 7 bags damaged beyond repair. It turns out our original flight to Sydney was delayed due to you guys having to retrieve our baggage (there were 14 of us that were given wrong information by the way). So much easier i believe, just to put us all back on our original flight.
A hour after our baggage arrive one of you NICE attendants walk up to my daughter, who is obviously in distress, and asks if she can assist her in anyway. My daughter explains the situation and boom we are on the next flight back to Sydney with Qantas. (2 hours earlier then your Jetstar flight).
All up not to mention our friends and family who had come from inner west and central coast to pick us up, taking a day off work. We had to get trains and buses to get home that day.
Really Jestar get your staff organised . Wrong information obviously gives your customers a reason NEVER TO FLY WITH YOU AGAIN.
