Won't ever fly them again!

Picked Jetstar because the times were the most suitable for our trip. Perth to Singapore flight delayed 3 hours. Annoying but bearable but the return flight on 29th July was unbelievable! We checked before leaving our hotel and everything was as scheduled but when we got to the airport we were told there was a delay of almost 11 hours and would not now be leaving until 4.50am. No offer of a hotel or anything! The excuse was 'weather' in Perth. The weather in Perth was fine and other airlines flights from Singapore to Perth left on time, it was just unfortunate for us they were full! We paid for a hotel and dinner and have applied to Jetstar for out of pocket expenses. We don't hold out much hope, especially as on the plane a tired young mum with 2 kids asked if her drink was complimentary because of the outrageous delay and was told she had to pay for it! I couldn't believe my ears! This was my first and last time using Jetstar and everyone we spoke to on that flight said the same!

Following my complaint just

Following my complaint just thought I'd let you know the response from Jetstar regarding my claim for out of pocket expenses. Their response was as expected, they blamed 'the weather' in Perth and their policy is they are not responsible for paying out of pocket expenses when 'bad weather' is to blame. The fact that two other flights left Singapore for Perth around the same time as our original flight indicates that there was no issue with the weather in Perth. Indeed it was fine and sunny on the day! Why don't they come clean and admit the plane wasn't full so it wasn't economical to fly! That's what most other passengers thought too! In fact the re-scheduled flight the next day was almost full as not only had they cancelled our flight of the previous day but also a Qantas flight too. We we all combined on to the next days flight. What they should be saying in their rules is something along the lines of 'if the flight you are booked on is not at an almost full capacity when due to fly then we reserve the right to cancel your flight and put you on another flight when we can fill it!!! Wonder if their lawyers would allow that one!!!
