Relief flights from Bali to operate on Friday

Last Updated: 30/11/2017 07:45 PM

Flying conditions around Denpasar Airport are expected to remain clear tomorrow. As a result, Jetstar and Qantas are planning to operate ten scheduled and eight relief flights from Bali to Australia.

Customers who have been booked on to these flights will be contacted directly.

Volcanic activity and ash cloud are unpredictable so flights may be cancelled at short notice.

Our senior pilots will make further assessments tonight and tomorrow morning based on the latest information from the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre. We will provide customers an update if the situation changes.

We will provide our next regular update by 11am AEDT tomorrow.

CUSTOMERS IN BALI

Customers in Bali will be booked on relief flights in order of who has been disrupted longest. You will be contacted directly via email and SMS with your rebooking details.

Before heading to the airport please check the status of your flight from the Flight status page on Jetstar.com or via our smartphone app.

There is a backlog of customers waiting to fly so it may take several days before you are booked on a flight.

If you were on a cancelled flight on Saturday, 25 November; Sunday, 26 November; or Monday, 27 November and you have not yet received and email or SMS from us, please visit Manage booking on Jetstar.com to check your booking. If your booking has not been changed, please get in touch with us via the ‘Chat now’ button at the top of this page so we can rebook you.

CUSTOMERS IN AUSTRALIA

Due to the unpredictability of volcanic activity and the potential for further diversions and cancellations, we will not be operating any flights from Australia to Bali on Friday. A list of cancelled flights is below.

If conditions remain clear, we will look to resume scheduled services from Australia to Bali in the coming days.

If you are booked to fly to Bali between Saturday, 25 November and Thursday, 7 December we encourage you to consider these three alternative options available to you:

Option 1: Change your holiday destination

Fly to an alternative destination instead of Bali at no additional cost (subject to seat availability).

Your new outbound flight must depart on or before Thursday, 14 December and your inbound (return) flight must depart on or before Thursday, 28 December.

You can fly to one of these alternative destinations:

  • Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – from Melbourne and Sydney
  • Nadi, Fiji – from Sydney
  • Narita (Tokyo), Japan – from Cairns, Gold Coast
  • Osaka, Japan – from Cairns
  • Phuket, Thailand – from Melbourne and Sydney
  • Singapore – from Melbourne and Perth

Note: In order to travel to these alternative destinations you must make your own way to the Australian city these flights depart from.

To change your holiday destination, click on the ‘Chat now’ button at the top of this page and we will make this change for you. If you are reading this in our smartphone app please open this travel alert on Jetstar.com using your phone’s web browser. When you do that you’ll see the chat button at the top of this page, as well.

Option 2: Change your travel dates

Change the date of your travel to Bali up to Thursday, 14 June 2018. We will waive the booking change fee for this move but the fare difference will still apply.

Option 3: Cancel your travel

Cancel your travel and receive a credit voucher to the value of your booking.

You can do this via Manage booking on Jetstar.com:

  • Click on ‘Check flight options’ (which shows you your flight status and rebooking options)
  • Click on ‘None of these flights suit me, show me other options’
  • From there you can cancel your flight and get a credit voucher
