Change of name charges are a joke

Hi, we're generally satisfied with Jetstar's service (ie you get what you pay for), however I was a little taken aback when I was told that to transfer a flight in my name to my daughters name (Melb>Tokyo) I would have to pay not only a transfer fee of $50 (I was expecting this) but also pay the difference between the price of the airfare I booked and the current price (ie today's pricing). So an additional $100 to transfer the flights when Gold Coast > Narita is currently selling for $229 a day or two before our scheduled flights. Seems really rough. What do others think?
