I called Jetstar earlier today, enquiring about getting a name change on a flight, I am getting married on Sunday and we have a cousin flying down on Saturday but due to family court hearings he may not be able to fly down to celebrate our day. I was dreading this call because I had just read the fares and rules and knew that the flight was a starter fare the bare minimum and rules are different. When I had spoken to the lady on the phone 1) I couldn't really understand her accent and as much as I wanted to get angry at her I knew it wasn't her fault that policies are policies I shared my frustration and in the end paying an extra $100 to change the names didn't make sense it was better for me to buy new flights again. Eventually I gave up and thanked her and decided to write a complaint. In that complaint it stated the obvious as above the situation and that I thought it was ridiculous to charge another $100 to change the name of the person flying I also stated that by the time someone responds to me I would have already been married and no point to this email, told them that it would be a good idea to charge $20 instead of $50 that this is more reasonable. Everything that was written was the truth. Little to my surprise Jetstar called me half an hour ago. I was caught off guard and offered to waiver the fee and all I had to do was pay the difference of price change in flights . I was amazed and thanked her as I thought I wouldn't get a phone call and I kept my cool but honestly my week has been stressful and this had really made my night. I put it down to not screaming down the phone and being demanding this has been the first Run in I have had with Jetstar and I use it a lot for my sports travels. Quite thank ful that out of all the negativity about jet star that I get to share a positive experience which by the sounds of it is 1/10 chance going by this website so I'm that one percent that Jetstar has made happy. Thank you Jetstar for resolving my complaint swiftly I really appreciate it
