INCREDIBLE JETSTAR RE-SCHEDULING

My wife and I booked flights from Melbourne to Perth for a 4 day September weekend, to see our son's family and 2 grand children. The return flights were booked at 10.50am departure time from Perth on the Monday. When I went in check via "Manage my Booking" a few days before the flights, a re-scheduling notice came up stating the flight was now leaving Perth at 1.40am Monday. We had not had any notice of this change by E mail or SMS.

The 2 options for alternative flights were similarly awful flight times, one via Sydney and one via Adelaide with Monday night presumably waiting at Adelaide airport for the 6am Tuesday flight to Melbourne.

I rang Jetstar to see what could be done, and the only option if we did not accept the alternative flights was to cancel the bookings and try with Qantas, Virgin or Tigerair. At that late stage the costs were substantially higher.

We are just gob smacked that Jetstar would re-schedule flights to that extent, and that for whatever reason we were not advised.

Last time we will ever fly with Jetstar.
