NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER

Well I thought I would tell you a tragic Jetstar story. My daughter and son-in-law are going to Hawaii on July 16 till July 25 and they invited my wife and I to tag along with them on this special deal that Jetstar were offering. I have just had a relapse with my leukemia and I start my treatment end of March and they thought it would be good idea for me to have a holiday during my treatment. I said yes go ahead and book it. My son-in-law went online and booked our flights and told me to pay for them through direct debit from my bank so you don't incur a fee. So I did that and then went to check the Hold booking in email and realised that he had booked the wrong date. He had booked July 23rd to July 25th. So I immediately rang Jetstar to let them know that the date was wrong and they informed me to ring my bank to cancel the payment to Jetstar. When I rang Commonwealth Bank they told me it's too late it has already gone and to ring Jetstar back in the next 24 hours. I was a bit nervous to wait because the deal runs out. So I did what they said and rang them first thing in the morning but only to be told that the money hasn't reached their end and that I won't be refunded because the fare was on special. I could change the date but would have to pay an extra $680 which obviously I wasn't happy about. So I checked with the bank again and they said it will take 48 days to try and get it back. I was told a different story each time I rang back to change. One operator said can you find someone else to buy the ticket off you and a name change for $70. I said don't be so stupid, who would want to buy a ticket to Hawaii for 2 days. They then said do you have another holiday during the year that we can change it too. Yes we do, I would like to book flights from Hobart to Brisbane for us both and 6 of our adult children (that includes son-in-laws) and they said that would be okay. I was then told that I would incur a fee of $80 for each person plus an extra $100 odd dollar fee. I have just had enough. My wife said bight the bullet and go ahead with the $80 fees anyway.
