5 of us were supposed to fly from Hi Chi Minh to Dong Hoi on 20th March at 2pm. After a 4 HR delay the flight was finally ready to leave at 6 PM. We waited at the airport for 4 hrs. At 6.30 PM another announcement says that the flight has finally been cancelled to "flight engineering problems". We made our way to the Jetsar check in counter all the way to another level of the airport where we had to convince them to get us to the nearest destination near Dong Hoi. We had made our reservation the next day to trek to the caves around Dong Hoi. What we were finally offered was to fly to Hanoi but no transfer to Dong Hoi was offered. We had to bring in the luggage all the way from the arrival terminal and check it again for the Hanoi flight which was set to fly in 15 minutes. After almost a near miss to Hanoi flight, the flight was further delayed. We finally landed at Hanoi @ 11pm. We could not find any means to travel to Dong Hoi from Hanoi late in the night and our reservations at Dong Hoi went waste. We lost almost $300 for the entire holiday at Dong Hoi.
