Fares like that will normally be advertised on a limited basis, on selected flights only. If you can't fly on the flights the fares are available for, then you can't get the flights.
Also, if there were only 50 seats, it's likely they were snapped up in a real hurry. Nothing wrong with that, it is what it is.

If some people can't afford $69, how is that Jetstar's fault? Should we blame Sony because not everyone can afford a $2000 TV? $69 is not much considering it costs nearly as much to bus at 8X the time.

So, it's Jetstar's fault that you couldn't get a flight that's even cheaper than $69? That's still ridiculously affordable. What's the issue?
