Booking Change and Customer Service

Jetstar's midnight flight schedule is ambiguos. Not only is it difficult to navigate, but the selection of flights to Perth are incredibly limited. When we realised we had mixed up the times (12am day is next day = confusion) we immediately (not days later, but straight away) called up the Jetsatr number, only to be put on hold and transferred to Qantas: explain our scenario and give our details only to then be put on hold again and transferred to Jetstar like we originally wanted (to then be asked the same questions again.....joy). After this, we explain to the inspid Julia (with a suspiciously Indian accent) that we would like to change our travel plans by one day to which she laughed and informed us that it would cost $70, which becomes $200 in Australian.
Now, I may be a bit confused here, but isn't Jetstar/Qantas Australian? How does $70 = $200 on any mathmatical or logical account??
After swallowing the initial shock of this, we are then asked to re-submit out credit card details to pay the additional costs; which meant that we had to use the card again (that required no validation to PAY for the tickets, mind you. And I assure you, they cost more than $200) which required verbal validation from the card holder, my Husband, who was sleeping owing to his work on a night-shift roster (and who was naturally overwhelmed that he was woken just to say 'She's my wife').
After giving this, we needed to re-read the card details, again, so that we could be informed that the card didn't actually work on their system. As a result of this, quick action was required to use my daughters debit card to pay for the $200-one-day-change-in-plans, which naturally required more time to explain.

All in all, about an hour's worth of wasted time and phone credit, $200 poorer and seriously in need of stress relief (in addition to confusion about why it cost so much to change a flight in the first place).
Now all we need to do is sit tight and wait for THEM to change the flight times on us again......and not get the flight cheaper for the inconvenience.............. @_@

Conclusion = DON'T FLY JETSTAR UNLESS YOUR LIFE, LITERALLY; YOUR LIFE, IS DEPENDENT ON IT!
