Come fly Jetstar!!! They have it all!!!

"Come enjoy the Jetstar experience!!! We'll delay your flight, causing you to be stranded in a city you don't want to be in.... We'll talk to you like you're a piece of dirt... Now for a limited time only, we'll even steal things out of your bags! All this and more rolled up into one convenient flight!!!"

I arrived at the airport for my flight to Melbourne from Sydney 40 minutes before departure, cutting it a little fine. When in line for check in and saw that my flight had been delayed, despite that a bossy woman in a Jet Star uniform called "Final call for boarding" for my fight. She told me to push to the front of the line even when I challenged her about the plane being delayed, but she insisted that the flight was on time. No explanation was giving to the people I was pushing in front of leaving me to awkwardly explain to some annoyed looking travelers why I was more important than them.

Sure enough I got to the gate and had to wait around for over almost 2 hours before boarding started. As it started the nice hostess took a few seconds to say "sorry for the delay" to everyone before handing over to the b*tch hostess spend 5 minutes telling everyone baggage size and weight limits speaking to us as if we were criminals about to enter a jail. The flight went without any trouble.

I arrived in Melbourne, collected my bags and discovered one of the pockets on my bag had been opened (and left open) and the only thing of value in there being my portable hard drive was missing (I'm guessing stolen). This was serious test of my temper given that the plane being delayed had already caused me to miss the only train back to my home town that day which is 3 hours away and which I had already purchased tickets for. I explained what had happened to the lady at the baggage claims desk, who filed a missing items report, but did not offer as much as an apology, let alone an offer of assistance or compensation considering I was stuck in Melbourne, out of pocket the money for the train ticket and would now need to spend over $120 for trains and taxis to get home.
I am now receiving a pointless phone call every day from someone in India, asking me if I had been contacted by anyone from Melbourne to inform me about my entire bag being supposedly missing. But at least they do make me feel well looked after when they let me know that they are looking into it closely (Yea right).

Needless to say I won’t be giving JetStar nor their parent company Qantas any of my business again.
