Foul mouth Ramp Staff

Recently me and my partner were returning from a short holiday in Brisbane to Cairns for me to return to my Job as a Cargo Pilot, when as we were making the extremly long mission down the gate to the waiting Airbus aircraft, as we were a length distance from the aircraft I took the opportunity to take a photo with my digital camera of the Aircraft sitting on the bay as I am a bit of an aviation Buff being a pilot, well this robust, foul mouth nazi ramp agent came running up with steam almost comming out of her ears and started to get quite rude and abusive stating that it was a risk to aviation sercurity to have cameras or mobile phones on during boarding, I then took the liberty of stating that I was a 737 pilot myself and have never encountered or heard such garbage, she then threatened to have me refused boarding , luckly I recorded what she was saying to me with the camera pointed at the ground but still recording, I will be sending a copy of the video to Bruce Bucanannan, absolutly disgusted with the customer service of this poor airline

Can you also put it on

Can you also put it on youtube? Name and shame 'em :D

Actually mate, as a

Actually mate, as a passenger, you are not allowed to take photos of an airside environment by law. Stupid I know as when I used to work as a ground handeller we took photos on our phones all the time, but alas, the gate agent was correct. Just be thankful it wasn't the AFP who saw you or you would have lost your camera and been refused boarding for talking back to them.

Also I wouldn't boast about covertly recording the staff member, as without their express consent you can be sued for invasion of privacy.

Well more to the point in all

Well more to the point in all of my years of flying as a passenger I have not been told this.

I have taken many pictures whilst walking to the air craft and from the airport window. It would seem this rule is redundant or to the point stupid, as I or any one can take a picture from the window of the airport of the aircraft runway, baggage carts and personnel. Even a house on a hill over looking the airport would have a great view for this. There is no logic to disallowing this.

In addition to this the law states you can record a conversation with out express permission of the parties involved if the conversation would normally or be expected to be overheard by others/ or if it takes place in a public setting. Which would be the case if you are boarding an aircraft, this conversation would not be expected to be in private or not overheard,.

Was just on Jetstar flight

Was just on Jetstar flight with lots of Japanese snapping pics of everything.

I think sending it to Bruce

I think sending it to Bruce Buchanan will be a waste of time. The impression i get about Jetstar is nobody gives a stuff about what they do, how the do it and to whom they do it. One must assume from the continuous and persistent abuse of customers at every level in every way that these actions are part of the companies business plan. the fact that they are owned by Qantas also dictates that we abandon them as well. I wonder if those running these airlines are trying to devalue them so they can be subject to a cheap takeover bid.

For clarity , speaking to AFP

For clarity , speaking to AFP officers who I work with on air side there is no law against plane spotting, if u were to be photographing things that can be a sercurity breach ect sercurity screen points, locking doors, or anythig that could be a treat to an aircraft it's treated differently... Being told by an overweight fatty boo
boom teenage jetstar ramp agent that I had no common sense and to use ur brain or don't get on the aircraft was disgusting, consideing I've been flying for 8years and know just about every safety aspect with an aircraft, being a 737 captain.., but had a win apparantly after emailing my little video of something to prove Nazi ramp agent Jetstar want to formally apologise and offer me a $500 travel credit voucher, on the proviso not to take the matter further

Take it further, $500 bah

Take it further, $500 bah they are obviously worried. Youtube it love to see the video :)

oh so next time i take i

oh so next time i take i picture of a Jetstar A320 Leaving the ground at wellington international i should expect there rude and potty mouth flight attendant to scream inaudiable garbage at me for photographing her plane taking off, hey as long as it aint her guns i should be OK or should i??

I agree with Chris. Tell 'em

I agree with Chris. Tell 'em to shove that $500 voucher up their arse. Jetstar have a lot more to lose by you taking it further!
