JESTstar gets an F for service and a A+ for cancellations

Booked a round trip ticket (Singapore to Ho Chi Minh) for my wife and for both outbound and inbound journeys were cancelled. On both occasions, there were no email messages. We did receive a text message only for the outbound flight. Travellers beware: JESTstar, I mean Jetstar will not send email messages and they will not call you either. We had telephone numbers at both destinations and never received a call. In 30 years of flying in North America and Europe, I have never encountered such awful service. Rest assured, I intend to tell all my contacts within the Australian and American communities here in Singapore not to travel with this airline that rightfully should be renamed JESTstar.

That's Jetstar Asia for you. Jetstar Australia/NZ isn't as bad.

Ummmmm, wrong. Exactly the same thing happened to me in Australia.

the answer is simple: fly

the answer is simple: fly tiger or virgin, they are just better airlines.

My friend is ex Jetstar staff

My friend is ex Jetstar staff and now works for Tiger as crew. When I asked him for a comparison he thinks it is much of a muchness, but would probably rate Tiger as a bit worse.

Jetstar Aus/NZ is exactly the same!!! read the millions of other stories on this website!

I get very tiered of

I get very tiered of repeating these- but here we go again..
1) Jetstar Pacific (Asia) is partially owned by Jetstar/Qantas. They have Jetstar/Qantas management, the revenue goes to Jetstar/Qantas and the numbers and details appear in the Qantas annual report. No matter the country or terratory - Ford is Ford, Apple is Apple, Colgate is Colgate and Jetstar is Jetstar. Distinguishing between Jetstar Pacific and Jetstar Australia is blameshifting, denial and self justification. It's the same company and the revenue winds up in the same place. Consequently the buck should stop there too.
2) No-one cares if Tiger or some other airline is worse. What we care about is that 'our' Australian airline Jetstar offers poor service.. Comparing Jestar to Tiger in this regard is a 'race to the bottom'.

Phil talks about the race to

Phil talks about the race to the bottom what concerns me is who will be the first to reach the bottom. Bottom of the ocean that is with you on board! There are mountains of evidence in the cases mentioned here of gross ineptness in these airlines and I think we can conclude that it follows all the way thought to operational and safety matters as well. the value of human lives is yet to be determined by these discounters.
