JETSTAR STAFF DID NOTHING WHEN MY 79 YEAR OLD MOTHER WAS KICKED AND PUNCHED BY 30 YEAR OLD ANIMAL OF A WOMAN

It has taken me some time to digest the POOR RESPONSE that Jetstar have sent to my Mother after she sent a complaint in regards to the physical attack she received while travelling on flight JQ943 from Cairns to Melbourne and seated in seat 3C on 18th August 2016. The plane was delayed for some 2 hours and the women sitting directly behind my mother was loud and continually mouthing off with loud abusive language and continually kicking her seat. During the whole 2 hour period prior to take off as the flight was delayed due to an earth tremour in Townsville, the Jetstar staff did nothing to silence or calm this women.

Federal Police were not called by Jetstar after my mother was told twice by the crew manager that they were because the incident had subsided is totally unacceptable. This response angers me beyond belief, the victim is 79 year old women and was kicked very hard to the shin then punched with a closed fist to the upper arm. All because she got out of her seat as she doesn't have the flexibility to turn, and asked this animal of a women to please stop kicking her seat. Both contacts causing bruising. The staff on this flight have a duty of care to all passengers and in this incident my mother did not receive this from the staff. She was not comforted in any way and the animal of a women that did this to her was not addressed by the staff at any point during the flight.
The cabin crew manager offered my mother the option to move to another seat after the unprovoked attack and my Mum declined because she paid extra to have that seat and she is the victim. Is it Jetstar's policy to move passengers that have been assaulted???? Would it not make more sense, and be a lot fair minded, if the person who is physically assaulting other passengers be the one that is to be moved????

Jetstar are claiming that there were conflicting reports to the incident. Who were these conflicting reports from and further more how can you mistake a kick and punch from one passenger to another where the victim being my mother who l should mention again is 79. There were four passengers that my mother knows of that witnessed this unprovoked attack and are all happy to testify on what they saw.

As a result of this incident my mother has had many a sleepless nights and will have trouble boarding a flight in the future due to the lack of authority from Jetstar staff towards this troublesome animal of a passenger. If it had of been Grant Hackett it would of made front page news but just swept under the carpet isn't acceptable. My brother on the night was at the airport and followed up with Federal Police when it became apparent that Jetstar staff hadn't even though as mentioned earlier that they would.

As a result of this unbelievable incident l seek conformation from Jetstar that this person sitting in seat 4C behind my mother on flight JQ943 Cairns to Melbourne be banned from flying with Jetstar ever again so no other passenger has to experience what my poor mother did.
We will have to wait and see how that goes!!!!!!!

I've just submitted a compliant for the returning leg of this flight, last night. I'm really sorry about your mum. But from the attitude of staff last night (yes I know it was late and no doubt they were tired but if you take the wage you do the job). I'm not surprised
