We have just been advised that the date of our 6yo daughters surgery in Melbourne has just been moved from Jan2013 to Nov2012 due to the medical treatment of her surgeon.
On speaking with the call centre about changing the date of our flights, I was advised that the cost to do so was $700!! I understand that there would be a change in the fare price, but the additional $420 in fees is ridiculous - especially when the original flights cost $501
The cost of the surgery is big enough, particularly when we have to travel to Melbourne to get treatment - not exactly pleasurable, when my daughter will be going back into a wheelchair for another 2 months

Virgin was unfortunately not cost competitive when I booked a month ago. But it now looks like Virgin would have been cheaper, and I would have presumably had less issues with Virgin or Qantas, as I am Gold FF with both.

Thanks to this site Jetstar Customer Care got in contact with me, and we came to a mutually acceptable outcome. While there had been some frustration, Jetstar in Australia resolved the issue.
I must thank the customer care team for the way they handled my issue, it's just a shame that everyone else in Jetstar is not as informed and considerate when dealing with and retaining customers.

However, yes, it is a shame that most of the jetstar staff, particularly the ground staff have absolutley no brain between them. Lacking in intelligence and professionalism, its a sick joke.
the jetstar ticket booking staff charge what they want, seriously. Sometimes they can trick a few poor saps out of their money, but in your case they didnt. Well done.
