Lost Baggage after paying an extra $45

I was flying from Melbourne to Singapore last night on Jetstar.

Checked in my luggage and everything was going smoothly.

BUT AT THE DEPARTURE GATE... there was another surprise baggage check.

It seemed like my wife and I had bags that were 3kgs overweight.

So we had to pay an extra $45 and check one of our hand carried bags in on the spot.

I noticed that all the people being checked were Asians. And that they were letting the Caucasians through without checking even though there was one lady with a carry on bag that would NOT fit the scale.

I questioned the Jetstar Staff in charge about what I just saw and she ignored me - like I was speaking in a different language.

Ok, fine. I'll just pay the extra $45 and never fly this crummy airline again.

Then when I get to Singapore, the same bag that they made me pay an excess for goes missing. I've now lost hundreds of dollars in vitamins and gifts for something I had to pay EXTRA for.

You are the most useless airline Jetstar. I would rather swim back Singapore than take your crummy piece of racist shit airline again.

I should have taken a video of the racist incident and given it to Today Tonight.

Spread the word about this crap airline before more shit like this happens to you too.

Hi Ben,

I know how you feel. I have to tell you I'm a white guy and Jetstar tried to 1st charge me $200. for extra baggage and then told me to repack and then tried to charge me $400.

I had already paid $162.00 for my ticket too. They were trying to charge me more than my original airline ticket.
I simply walked away and went over to Air Asia at the Singapore Airport. They charged me $222.00 for everything to fly to Bangkok.

I'm not sure that will make you feel any better because my incident happened over 30 days ago and I still think about it all the time. Jetstar tried to take advantage of me just like a pick pocket!!

Anyway Ben if you read all these complaints you will then understand more about Jetstar and feel lucky for what little happened to you.
