Never again Jetstar, never again.

Direct flight (Tokyo - Melb) cancelled.
Rebooked on later flight with connection at Cairns.
Show up at Narita airport (Tokyo) - find out connecting flight (cairns to Melbourne) is cancelled + we were automatically booked on flights: Cairns - Brisbane - Sydney - Melbourne. Again - nil compensation offered for lack of direct flight or the major delay.
This turns out to be a moot point - Tokyo - cairns flight Cancelled at last minute (again - Jetstar didn't tell us it was cancelled, we all kind of found out when they started unloading our baggage when we were watching the plane from the terminal).
We were then Rebooked on flight leaving 20hrs later. 30+ hour delay. No apology.
I am a social worker - I needed to be back at work to see clients. My partner has MS + needed to be back for a medical appointment. We needed a sooner flight. I explained this to the most unhelpful Jetstar employees who informed me that once a flight has been automatically allocated, it can not be changed. Which I know is lies. The real kicker - they offered me a $5 'refreshment voucher' as a 'recovery package' for this major fuck around.
Not sure how I'm going to proceed, but I'm angry enough for a lawsuit.

Same as every other company Jetstar have to comply with consumer guarantees and if you did not get what you paid for you are entitled to a refund. Dont take no for an answer

Same thing had happened to me. I paid $1800 for direct flight. Not happy Jan. My flight is now 8pm tonight via cairns. It better not be cancelled!
