Never fly jetstar

Being a single mum of two teenage girls 18 and 16 it took me a long time to save
For our holiday. Travelled from Sydney to Brisbane and then Brisbane to Bali. . For some reason they could only
Check in my daughters at Sydney all the way to Bali. But myself and my daughters bf were
Told we had to check in at Brisbane . Well that was weird to start with. So of course our plane
From Sydney was delayed. By the time we got to Brisbane international airport (1minute late for check in) I was refused to board the plane. Seen my girls were booked through they could board. I couldn't believe how rude the staff were. So after many tears I had to convince my girls to go on without us and I would get there ASAP. Jetstar had no compassion . I had to make my girls go to Bali alone they had Never been there before. The only help jetstar gave me was I could have the next flight available 3 days later. Wow that was nice of them!!
I ended up having to buy two more tickets with another airline at the cost of $1400. I had no choice but to get to my children. I now am trying to get a refund. I had to use the money i had saved for our holiday . They really did ruin our holiday . Jetstar are very un helpful . I work in customer service and I dnt know how they are still around. I will never ever fly jetstar again. I hope others read this and think twice before choosing g this airline. So no wonder they can do cheap flights they rip everyone off!!!

If you bought fly through

If you bought fly through tickets (IE Sydney to Bali) and not Sydney to Brisbane and then Brisbane to Bali If you bought them all at the same time and IF they are the same tickets, there is a way you can get your money back.

Does it say on your tickets or anything you got that you had to check in twice?

all I can say is suing

all I can say is suing jetstar - good luck. The trouble is here (Don't fly Jetstar) you are preaching to the converted. If mugs like you keep buying tickets from Jetstar (Qantas) because they are cheap, then nothing will change

Well tony thanks for the

Well tony thanks for the comment but I am no mug. Just tried to take my girls on a holiday
And I have learnt my lesson. Don't fly jetstar!

Tammie, you will be waiting a

Tammie, you will be waiting a very long time for any refund. Jetstar has mastered the art of delaying things until you give up. Putting the wait aside the frustration of calling them and staying on the line to some imbeciles is just not worth it. If you paid by credit card, and I hope you have, contact your card company and lodge a dispute. Tell them that Jetstar did not perform as per the contract. It is a legitimate one as Jetstar took the money an didn't deliver. The credit card company will refund you immediately and then will chase Jetstar for the money. Jetstar must then explain why you were not entitled to a refund. And of course they wont.

This is something that most people are not aware and spend hours trying to get a refund for non-performance. If you buy your ticket with a credit card you can get a refund immediately if the supplier does not deliver as per the contract. This is the only reason Jetstar is encouraging people to pay by bank transfer (Poli or whatever its called) rather than a credit card.

Update on the phone numbers

Update on the phone numbers provided. I called 131538 after several tedious and unproductive online 'chats' - I selected option 1 because the other options were for different languages. Got through to an operator (overseas) to complain about significant changes to our flights - one was the following day for a 2 hour direct flight, or the same day would be an 8 hour indirect flight!!! We were originally offered a re-routing fee of $334 (the total return flights had been less!). When I declined I was then offered some other type of fee for $164. I again declined and said the only thing we would accept was the change for free or a full refund. Eventually we were offered the change we wanted, so it pays to persist - and I mean really persist.
