I was pressured into purchasing an upgrade to Business class on a recent flight home to Sydney from Honolulu by a Jetstar representative who called me 3 times pressuring me. I decided to go ahead with it for myself and my partner. When we showed up at Honolulu airport expecting to fly home with Business class which cost an additinal $658 we were told at the counter at time of checking in that the Jetstar plane had broken down and will now fly Qantas, however it had 70 less seats then the original which meant there was no room for us in business and we have to go back to economy. I was never contacted by Jetstar to inform me of this change either. Well now I have just tried ringing to get a refund and they will not issue to me as their excuse is that 'Qantas economy is equivelent to Jetstar business' what a load of garbage! Jetstar are scammers and I have now taken this issue to the Dept. of Fair Trading!! It wasn't my choice to fly Qantas and it was out of my control so why should I be punished for it now. Never fly Jetstar!!!!

Sonja -Your experience would have anyone hopping mad.This is the sort of con people need to know about. Not getting to fly home Business was bad enough -but the refusal to refund money for goods not delivered is appalling.
Were all the other people redirected to the Qantas flight charged the extra money -or were they all upgraded free to the so-called equivalent business experience.
Did they all get off the plane raving about their wonderful upgrade? I doubt it -unless Jetstar's usual on- board experience is as appalling as their ethics and customer service!

Jeni, most people were actually happy being on the Qantas flight as they serve all the meals free of charge whereas Jetstar charges for everything extra. I questioned them on the same thing i.e. did everyone else have to pay extra? How ridiculous! We were seated in economy, if anything the Qantas plane was older then the Jetstar we booked which had leather seats etc. We were seated in old seats with fabric that had tears all over it.
They just scammed and ripped me off!
