The Union Meeting

I recently flew Jetstar from Brisbane to Newcaslte on my frequent flyer points. Well never again. Better off walking home I think. After checking in early I was given, without a doubt, the worst seat on the plane. Last row isle seat. After taking my seat I was drawn to the conversation taking place directly behind me by two staff members. No way to avoid this as they were yelling. Not that they were arguing but simply having ng a normal conversation. not too sure of the reason for the yelling. At first I thought a staff meeting was taking place. Then my thoughts were No this may be a union meeting . Too bad if anyone wanted assistance as these two were too wrapped up in their own world. Conversation summed up as this. Megan had been ripped off by her employer, Jetstar, during a flight to Launceston, apparently flight was delayed and Megan didn't get a hotel room at the right time or the right compensation for her time??? Other staff member, Niman??, advised this was just not on and she should ask for compensation. On top of this Jetstar doesn't take plane maintenance seriously as pilot spent day in Launceston fighting to have plane correclty repaired before next flight. WHAT?? Who wants to hear this crap when they are about to be put in the air with this mob. Conversation then changed to problem with parking at airport, some problem with Megan's flatmate and went from there. Now I'm all for a bit of chit chat at work but these two didn't not stop to take a breath the whole flight nor did they offer any service to anyone on the flight. And they yelled the whole time. Customers in the last 2 rows were subject to this crap for an hour non stop. Finally it was time for landing and it still hadn't stopped. Not able to stand it anymore I turned in my seat and politely aske Niman if he realised that they had spent the whole flight yelling. "Oh Ok" I was told and he continiued on with his yelling. I couldn't believe it. Does Jetstar really have that much trouble finding quality staff?? It seems that maybe Virgin got the pick of the bunch. Tried complaining when I got home but to no avail. It seems Jetstars policy of acknowledging your complaint within 24 hours is rubbish, someone calling you back within 48 hours in rubbish and they really just don't care. So my answer: Megan, if you don't like your job get a new one. Niman, save the advise for another time and everyone else: NEVER FLY JETSTAR!
