Several Australian state governments have issued travel restrictions.

In light of this our network has been adjusted and some flights for July 2020 were cancelled. Impacted customers will be notified directly in the next few days via email and SMS and provided a range of options, which may include a refund. For travel within Australia, review the latest information for each state:

Northern Territory

Queensland

South Australia

Tasmania

Victoria

Western Australia

New South Wales – Victoria borders closure begins from 7 July

Following a further spike in COVID-19 cases in Victoria over the weekend, the New South Wales government has announced that it will temporarily close its border with Victoria.

7 July - Greater Melbourne Residents: Residents from Greater Melbourne are not allowed to enter NSW effective 12:01 Tues 7 July. Returning NSW residents required to self isolate for 14 days. Find more information here

8 July - remaining Victoria Residents: Border commences from 12.01am Wednesday 8 July.

We’re currently reviewing our network and some flights will be cancelled. If any flight is impacted, we’ll contact customers directly with a range of options, which may include a refund depending the circumstances.

Customers travelling in July who are currently away from home and need to bring their flights forward are encouraged to do so at no additional cost this week. Changes can be made by logging into Manage Booking

South Australia – eased restrictions

South Australia has eased restrictions for travellers entering the state from the Northern Territory, Western Australia, Queensland and Tasmania.

Travellers entering South Australia from these states and territories will no longer be required to enter 14 days quarantine.

If you are travelling into South Australia, a pre-approval form is now in place and you need to complete the cross border pre-approval form at least 72 hours prior to your arrival. This process will speed up the border crossing process and provide certainty for you about any restrictions that may apply before reaching the border.

More information can be found here

Queensland – interstate flights from 10 July (exceptions for Victoria)

On Tuesday 30 June 2020, Queensland announced their borders will reopen from 10 July to all Australians, except travellers from the state of Victoria or anyone with recent travel history to Victoria.

We’re currently reviewing our network and may need to cancel some flights. If your flight is impacted, we’ll contact you directly from Friday to offer you a range of options.

From 3 July, Victorians and any travellers to Queensland with recent travel history (within 14 days) to any part of Victoria will be required to quarantine in hotels at their own expense.

Travellers arriving to Queensland from other states will have to provide official documentation stating that they have not been in Victoria within the previous 14 days. False documents will attract penalties, including fines.

Victoria - advice to Melbourne residents

Given the increasing numbers of coronavirus (COVID-19) in particular locations and the heightened risk of transmission, the Victorian government has announced that Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions will be applied to impacted areas. Please read more information here

We encourage all Australians to download and activate the COVIDSafe app.

The app helps state and territory officials to quickly contact people who may have been exposed to the virus. It’s easy, it’s secure and ultimately, it will mean less restrictions, which will let us all travel again sooner.

The COVIDSafe app also gives you extra reassurance if you are travelling. For more information and to download the app head here.
