Important notice for ‘Smart Bags’

Effective 15 Jan 2018, the handling procedure for baggage with built in USB port(s), electronic bag tags, weight scales – collectively known in the market as ‘Smart Bags’ – will be revised, in accordance to IATA guidelines.
Before checking-in, passengers must:
- remove all batteries or power banks from all smart-style bags; and
- carry all removed batteries or power banks in carry-on baggage only.
Baggage fitted with non-removable batteries or power banks are not permitted and will not be carried.
