Information regarding the Novel Coronavirus (Last Updated Feb 14, 2020)

In response to the expansion of the novel coronavirus, the company has released the following information:


1. Regarding Flight Suspension
Below are the routes suspended due to the flight suspension and demand declines impacted by the novel coronavirus.


<NRT = PVG route>
Flight suspended period: 2020 Feb 5 to March 28
GK35 (NRT – PVG): 2020 Feb 25 ~ March 27
GK36 (PVG – NRT): 2020 Feb 26 ~ March 28


<NRT = HKG route>
Flight suspended period: 2020 Feb 23 to March 28
GK23 (NRT – HKG): 2020 Feb 23 ~ March 28
GK20 (HKG – NRT): 2020 Feb 24 ~ March 29


As of Feb 14, above two routes are planned to recommence from 2020 March 29.


All customers impacted by this change will be contacted and will be able to;
1. Cancel their bookings and obtain a full refund or credit voucher (no fee charged)

2. Or change to an alternative Jetstar Japan’s destination on the Jetstar Japan network (no fee charged, however fare difference may apply)


3. Or, offered the opportunity to change their flight to a date before the suspension is applied, or flights after and including 2020 March 29, subject to availability. (no fee charged, no fare difference)

2. In-flight Announcement
Based on the directive from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, airlines are to inform passengers on applicable flights to report any symptoms, such as coughing and/or fever, to the quarantine officer stationed at the airport after arrival.


Applicable Routes: Japan = HKG, TPE




3. Cabin Crew to Wear Face Masks and Gloves
As a precautionary measure, cabin crew may wear face masks and gloves on international and domestic flights.




4. Distribution of Health Card from the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and additional documentations from respective government authorities
A document that includes relevant information on the novel coronavirus has been created by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and Quarantines. “Health Card” and “Questionnaire” will be distributed to passengers when the aircraft arrived in Japan. For Taipei route, “Novel Coronavirus Health Declaration Card” will be distributed to passengers when aircraft arrived in Taipei.

The above are subject to change and will be revised in accordance with the instructions received from the respective government authorities.




5. Airport Ground Staff to Wear Face Masks
For our customers comfortableness, our airport ground staff may wear face masks during operating hours.




6. Strengthening Quarantine Measures
International airports have progressively announced that quarantine measures will be strengthened and may mandate health checks for passengers.

7. Restriction on Entry to Japan
By directives enforced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan, entry to Japan will not be permitted for passengers below effective 2020 February 13 until further notice.


Passport holders issued by Hubei Province and Zhejiang Province, People's Republic of China. 
Any non-Japanese passport holders visited Hubei Province or Zhejiang Province, People's Republic of China in the past 14 days at the time of arrival in Japan.

8. Restrictions on entry conditions to countries other than Japan
Owing to the enhancement of quarantine measurements in response to the expansion of the novel coronavirus, many countries have reinforced existing or introduced new measures or restrictions.


Customers are advised to check the relevant information from embassies, consulates and health organizations of the destination country.


On selected routes, web check-in and use of KIOSK check-in machines at airport may be suspended.
