Travel Alert - Jetstar planning to recommence operations from Bali - Indonesia (English)

Jetstar planning to recommence operations from Bali

Last Updated: 29/11/2017 06:39 PM

Flying conditions at
Denpasar Airport are predicted to clear on Thursday for a period of time, so
Jetstar and Qantas are planning to operate scheduled services from Bali, as
well as some relief flights to get as many people back to Australia as
possible.

Volcanic activity and
ash cloud are unpredictable and flights may be cancelled at short notice.

Our senior pilots will
make further assessment tonight and tomorrow morning based on the latest
information from the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre. We will provide customers
further updates if the situation changes.

On Thursday, Jetstar and
Qantas have ten scheduled flights and will put on an additional six relief flights
which will see a total of 3800 people return to Australia.  Customers who
are booked on these flights are being contacted directly.

We are doing everything
we can to get customers moving as quickly as possible. We will provide another
update by 11am AEDT tomorrow.

FOR CUSTOMERS IN BALI

Those in Bali will be
booked on relief flights in order of who has been disrupted longest. You will
be contacted directly via email and SMS to advise when you have been booked on
a relief flight.

Please bear in mind
there is a backlog of customers waiting to fly so it may take several days
before you are booked on a flight.

It’s important to note
that volcanic activity is unpredictable and flights may be cancelled at short
notice. If this happens and you are booked on a relief flight, we will be in
contact with you immediately.

FOR THOSE IN AUSTRALIA

Due to the
unpredictability of volcanic activity and the potential for further diversions
and cancellations, we will not be operating any flights into Bali on Thursday.
A list of cancelled flights is below.

As there is a long
backlog of people waiting to fly to from Australia, we encourage you consider
the alternative options available, including a credit voucher or the option to
fly to another international destination such as Ho Chi Minh City, Phuket and
Fiji. The full list of options is below.

While these disruptions
are frustrating, we will always put safety before schedule. We appreciate our
customers’ patience.
