Potential Customs delays in September
Last Updated: 21/09/2015 01:51 PM
Please be advised that there may be small delays at international airports across Australia from 21 to 30 September due to industrial action being taken by Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection employees.
Customers travelling internationally between 21 to 30 September are advised to arrive at the airport three hours before their flight is scheduled to depart and proceed straight to Customs after check-in.
While the Department of Immigration and Border Protection has advised that it has put in place contingency measures to avoid disruption to normal operations, we encourage customers to ensure they allow enough time for processing at the airport before their flight. There may also be some delays through Customs for passengers arriving on flights on these days.
For more information on the industrial strike action and a list of planned times visit the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection website.
Industrial action may impact Customs at various times at the following airports across 21 - 30 September 2015:
- Sydney International Airport
- Melbourne International Airport
- Brisbane International Airport
- Adelaide Airport
- Perth Airport
- Darwin Airport
- Gold Coast Airport
- Cairns International Airport
- Townsville Airport
