Potential delays at Customs
Last Updated: 10/08/2016 02:24 PM
If you are travelling internationally from Australia on 12 August, please arrive at the airport 3 hours before your scheduled flight time and proceed straight to Customs after checking in.
Employees from the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) will be taking industrial action across Australian airports during this 24-hour period.
This means you may experience some delays when departing from international airports across Australia. There may also be some delays through Customs for passengers flying in to Australia.
DIBP will be putting contingency measures in place to limit disruption to normal operations.
However, we recommend you arrive at the airport early to allow enough time for Customs processing before your flight.
For more information on the industrial strike action visit the DIBP website.
Industrial action may affect Customs processing at the following international airports across Australia this week:
12 August 2016 (24-hour period):
- Sydney International Airport
