Update on volcanic ash over Bali

Last Updated: 23/07/2015 07:56 AM

Bali flying resumes on 23 July

Jetstar has determined it is safe to resume services in and out of Bali today following careful consideration of the latest information from the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre (VAAC).

We plan to operate all scheduled services in and out of Bali today.

Customers who are already booked to fly should plan to travel as normal. We continue to advise customers to check their Flight Status on Jetstar.com (or the Jetstar app on your smartphone) before heading to the airport.

Subject to clear flying conditions, we will operate the following additional services between Bali and Australia tomorrow to get customers home as soon as possible:
  • JQ 1035 – Melbourne – Bali
  • JQ 1058 – Bali – Brisbane
  • JQ 7117  – Bali – Perth

22 July cancellations

As a result of unsafe flying conditions yesterday, we cancelled the following flights:

  • JQ 43 – Melbourne – Bali (22 July)
  • JQ 44 – Bali – Melbourne (22 July)
  • JQ 106 – Perth – Bali (22 July)
  • JQ 105 – Bali – Perth (22 July)
  • JQ 127 – Adelaide – Bali (22 July)
  • JQ 128 – Bali – Adelaide (23 July)
  • JQ 35 – Melbourne- Bali (22 July)
  • JQ 58 – Bali – Brisbane (22 July)
  • JQ 37 – Sydney – Bali (22 July)
  • JQ 38 – Bali – Sydney (22 July)
  • JQ 116 – Perth – Bali – Singapore (22 July)
  • JQ 117 – Singapore – Bali – Perth (23 July)

Earlier forecasts had indicated there was a possibility of favourable winds pushing the ash cloud away from Denpasar Airport overnight. Unfortunately this didn’t eventuate and our expert operations teams were not satisfied it is safe to fly in and out of Bali this evening.

We know yesterday's cancellations were frustrating for passengers, but the safety of our customers and crew remains our first priority.
