Today we were 2 mins late for checkin thanks to a Qantas delay
Jetstar checkin girls were extremely rude and badically said too bad so sad. Now we are $1200 out of pocket.
Thanks Qantas and especially thankyou jet-slut for your compassion.

They dont get paid for
They dont get paid for compassion or understanding.
They get paid to get out of bed and put their makeup and plastic smiles on. Thats it.
They dont get hired for their intelligence or ability to empathise with others, they are hired because they are the bottom of the barrel and are so grateful for the job.
I hear ya. I mean, imagine if
I hear ya. I mean, imagine if you had already agreed to the terms and conditions upon purchase of your tickets within regards to your requirement to be at check-in no later than 60 minutes before the flight, and that if you missed that cut-off time that JetStar would not be held liable. Thanks Jet-Slut.
Oh, yeah, as it turns out... you did agree to the terms and conditions. As it also turns out you could have paid extra money for a premium service like a JetFlex or Star Class ticket or whatever they are called or flown with a premium airline and you would have had the freedom to be 2 minutes late. But you chose a budget service and JetStar doesn't stay afloat by giving out cheap tickets along with flexible fare rules and presenting their "plastic smiles" all the time. They nab you when you are two minutes late. And so they should.
But, you're right. I hear ya. Thanks Jet-Slut.
@Nathan. Oh, yeah, as it
@Nathan.
Oh, yeah, as it turns out...you, Nathan, are working for the worst airline in Australia. Wear the badge with pride.
No, I don't. Decent guess,
No, I don't. Decent guess, however. I can see how my comment would have passed off as carrying a certain level of bias. Well detected.
I have friends that work in the industry, though. And whilst, yes, some of them work for the archnemesis, a lot of them work for other companies too.
In my comment, I was simply pointing out that when you purchase a ticket and you agree to the terms and conditions, you agree to the terms and conditions, do you not? And are you not given an option to purchase a flexible ticket, which will save you in the unlikely event that you are two minutes late?
I stumbled across this website with some random Google-ing, and have read a few of the threads on the home page. Some of the threads carry merit, and the way people get treated isn't going to be great 100% of the time, which is well noted on this site.
This thread that we are so pleasantly punching keys away on, however, caught my eye as ridiculous and carries as much merit as our pointless debate does.
As a final thought, surely this website could be called dontflybudgetairlines.com? The posts would quadruple. This [the budget airline] industry is going to keep 99% of people happy as they commute from A to B for the price of filling up their car's petrol tank. Then there are going to be 0.5% of people who get absolutely rimmed by companies like JetStar, Virigin, Tiger and the rest because of a genuine fuck up on behalf of the airline. Finally, there are the 0.5% of commuters who would rather complain about life's every demise while shifting the blame onto anyone other than themselves. I wonder how many of that last 0.5% end up here?
Call it dontflybudgetairlines.com and we'll get 100% market share of that final half percentile joining our enthralling battle of wit and banter.
Peace.
@ Nathan I called the site
@ Nathan
I called the site dontflyjetstar.com and made this site because I was unhappy with how I was treated and how bad jetstar's process to complain is. I was targeting jetstar, not budget airlines.
You can also get to the site with the url www.jetstar-complaints.com
You are welcome to take a look at my story and and tell me if there is any merit to my complaint.

OMG...you cannot be penalised
OMG...you cannot be penalised financially if you can prove your delay was caused by the parent airline of JetStar (Qantas). You can be blocked from boarding the plane because they have cut off times they have to adhere to...though my experience is that they are quite happy to call passengers for final boarding then have them sitting around for another 10-20 minutes because the aircraft is not boarding and that is perfectly fine.
I would be putting in a phone call to the Office of Consumer Affairs (they have a new name but do the same stuff)...it does not matter what the conditions of arrival are in this case your delay was airline caused and the owner of JetStar the least they can do is step up for their own part in that.
Absolutely normal. Jetstar
Absolutely normal. Jetstar are NOTORIOUS for slamming the gate shut 1/2 hour before boarding. If you are standing in line, tough.
gotta admit though, Nathan is
