90mins to check in

Spent 90mins lining up in the jetstar checkin queue. Me and my partner had arrived in Darwin from Adelaide with jetstar at 3.30pm. As we had already done web checkin for next leg to Bali with jetstar leaving at 7.30pm thought if we got back to airport by 5.30pm that would leave plenty of time. So me and my partner did a quick tour with my sister of Darwin harbour and got back to drop our bags off. Absolutely no point in web checkin as had to wait in line with everyone else to get boarding pass. Everyone in line with us was furious, there was only 1 jetstar staff checking people in (we could see jetstar staff in offices above looking down but did nothing). That poor jetstar attendant! We lined up just after 5.30pm and didn't get boarding pass til 7pm, I thought we were gonna miss our flight, we had to run through customs etc, no time to buy duty free or go to toilet, panicking at this stage. Not a nice way to start a holiday. But seriously lining up for an hour and a half was painful. My suitcase wheel broken when I got it when I arrived back home, hopefully I won't have to wait long to get that resolved. Also before our holiday our actual flight times changed 3 times. They were 2-4-1 tickets but that's not the point, it makes booking accommodation risky cause u don't know if your flights will change. Lucky for us the flight times changed to a more reasonable time, no 2am flights so I was grateful for that, but I had no idea they could just change them on you like that!

I've found the web check in

I've found the web check in line and the bag drop counters are often far longer waits than just rolling up at normal check in. Forget about web check in unless you only have hand luggage - it's often just a longer line to drop your bags.
