Another case of terrible service

I was trying to fly with Jetstar from Melbourne to Cairns last week What a mistake. I caught an early airport shuttle and was 1.5 hours early for my flight. I checked in, took note of my flight time and gate and relaxed with a drink and a magazine. A while later I notice the flight has been delayed 10 minutes. No problem, I went to the restroom then proceeded to the designated gate. Nothing doing, only a long line of people waiting for a Sydney flight.

I waited a few minutes then went to the Jetstar counter which was attended by two female staff. I asked what was going on with my flight only to be told, very rudely, "you've missed it, Mam". I said the flight wasn't paged and they instead it was and that I was personally paged several times". I was then accused of making the flight run late! I was told that I would have to wait 4 hours for another flight and that it would cost me $50.00. I asked again why my flight wasn't paged. I was then accused of abusing them and told "for that Mam, your flight has just gone up to $500". Of course I didn't end up flying with them and had to spend over $400 to get home with Virgin.

What gives these staff the right to treat people like this and who gives them the power to change the prices at their whim. I have spend over 30 years in the customer service industry and would have never treated people in this manner, despite having to placate many disgruntled customers in my time. I think these people wish they were cabin staff and have a huge chip on their shoulder.

Of course, complaining to Jetstar on my return got me nowhere. Then they had the gall to send me a customer satisfaction survey!! Of course it was a no-reply email. What a joke.

Will not ever fly with

Will not ever fly with Jetstar, the staff are very rude, I had 1 hand baggage and my camera bag they weigh both to gather and it was 8 kg, so I was asked to pay $50 for the extra 1kg which I argued that it was a ripoff and told I was not going to pay but they wouldn't let in without paying the $50, I ask anyone flying with Jetstar to be aware of this ripoff, I will never fly with Jetstar ever.
