Dear Jetstar,
this morning I was very nervous about what I saw. I was in line boarding your 6am flight to Cairns and I followed an elderly couple (approx mid to late 70's) through the boarding gate. The lady on the gate scanned their ticket and asked them (again no doubt) if they were aware they were seated in an emergency exit and asked if they would be able to assist in case of an emergency. Of corse the couple replied yes, as the idea of an exit row with all that extra room for a 3.5hr flight sounds ideal! I then followed them up the stairs which the gentleman struggled to get up due to being elderly and more frail then someone his junior. They then asked for help to get their bags up into the overhead compartment as they couldn't lift their bags up over their head.
This really concerns me.
If two people can't lift there 5kg bag into the overhead compartment then how are they going to assist in lifting down a 35kg life raft or operate the emergency exit door?

Absolutely terrible. What a complete lack of common sense these Jet Star rats have. Never ever fly this shambles of an airline.

Jetstar are very slow to reply to posts where they are in the wrong ! and i feel there are safety issuses with this company , as in the case of the txting pilot , it seemed to be just washed over , it is also great how on the long haul flights the captain comes out of the cockpit and goes to sleep in the busniess class cabin ( air france did this and look want happened to Air France A332 over Atlantic on Jun 1st 2009)
if the fornt of house staff are so bad with safety and rule compliance , i find it very hard to believe the pilots with jetstar are any different .
