we booked flight to melbourne for a family function 6 mths ago. flight was at 3:35pm as confirmed by email to us with offer to web check baggage etc. when checking flight was on time on jetstar site discovered flight had been re-schedueled 2hrs earilier. rushed to airport only to be told had missed flight and that we had been emailed change of flight details, we had a copy of email sent to us dated after the supposed re-schedueled email had been sent to us. Too bad it's in the terms and conditions jetstar can change flight times when ever they like according to the service desk. had to book another flight (not with jetstar) cost another $900.00

Hi Darrin, That's a real
Hi Darrin,
That's a real bugger. Airlines change times all the time. I've had both Jetstar & Qantas, and other airlines do this and have received emails and texts from them informing me, sometimes a few days out, sometimes months out. So not sure what happened to your flight. You could try writing a letter (not an email) to them, do it factually and respectfully and you might receive a positive response eg free flights.
I've actually found Jetstar better to deal with than Qantas. One time Qantas changed my flight to a Jetstar flight - from a 3pm departure to a 6.30am departure - no meals, no movies etc. I asked them why I should bother booking Qantas if they do that? My last 4 international flights with Qantas have all been delayed due to mechanicals, not weather.
I'm taking the family to NZ over Christmas and are going AirNZ for 2 reasons;
1. For sure the Qantas staff will go on strike
2. I can do un-accompanied children online, no extra fees with AirNZ.
All airlines have issues, i generally find Jetstar pretty good. Write to the CEO and see what response you get.
Cheers
