Cheapness

To Whom it may concern

My girlfriend in South Africa recently went online to Quantas and booked me a return flight to Bangkok from Sydney. Unknown to me, the return flight was with Jetstar. We fly overseas numerous times a year and this has been my WORST experience. I cannot believe I was asked for $15 for a blanket on an international long haul flight. It may be a small amount but it's the principle involved. Free water in the toilet ?? There were no cups to drink it with.....

You claim to be a "budget" airline but the budgetting only seems to be on your side as the prices are not indicative on the passengers side. I can understand the "low cost" format on short inter city flights but certainly not on a long haul trip. When we book "Quantas" we expect what the standard should be, as it is on Emirates or SAA alternative airlines, used by Quantas.

I am not the type of person to ever use a coupon or bitch for no reason but here I find myself typing this complaint to let you know how annoyed I am. An expensive overseas flight and you cannot even supply a cheap blanket...... pathetic to say the least.

I know I am only one small fish in the pond but it seems the internet has a fairly large school voicing their displeasure at the value your airline offers.

I await your response

Sincerely

Myles Shannon

Myles, for starters its

Myles, for starters its Qantas. Not Quantas. This is really a basic you should get right before publicly complaining otherwise it makes you seem uneducated and ill informed.
Your girlfriend should take more care in what she is booking because the "Qantas" website indicates that it's a Jetstar operated flight. I know this because I've done it myself. You also need to get a grip and understand there is a difference in standard offerings between low cost airlines and full service airlines. Paying for additions like blankets, food, entertainment etc on top of the ticket price is standard on low cost airlines, long haul or not.
I've been on a couple of long haul trips with Jetstar and the water is not in the toilet. It's in the galley near the toilets. There were cups at all times when I needed them. Did you ask staff? Maybe they didn't realise they were out.
Finally, have you actually given this feedback to Jetstar, or only to this website? It looks to me like you expect Jetstar to reply to your post on a website that is not run by them??
In summary, I strongly feel that some people just shouldn't fly.

Michaela, for starters, I

Michaela, for starters, I don't need someone like you to point out the difference between standard offerings on low budget and full service airlines. Unless you are an air hostess or pilot, I doubt whether you fly as much as I do. If you read my post properly, you will see that I do have a grip and I am fully aware of the differences. This makes YOU seem uneducated and ill informed. Now, why would I ask the staff about the shortage of cups ?? Ooh, I never thought of that !! I'm so glad there were cups for you when you flew but this is not about you.... Lastly, of course I sent this exact complaint to Jetstar. Only an idiot would assume that they would achieve something by only complaining to a third party site, which you clearly assumed.... I will now "hang up" as I don't wish to get into a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

In summary, some people should mind their own business, especially if they overestimate their intelligence over someone who they don't know.

FYI, Jetstar phoned me shortly after I mailed them my complaint and we had a very amicable and satisfactory conversation.

Michaela...being a spelling

Michaela...being a spelling nazi on a website is not going to win you points, especially not on this one. Being a spelling Nazi publicly just makes you come across as a stuck up bitch who likes to put people down to make herself feel more superior.
Jetstar are fully aware of this site and whoever it is that manages their facebook site is a member here and periodically reads the complains.

Myles, glad to hear you got it sorted.

Every time I've purchased a

Every time I've purchased a long haul flight on any airline - I read whats included / whats not in the ticket price. Jetstar's site is very clear - if you want food / comfort pack / additional checked baggage - you have to pay for it.
This site is full of complaints by people who don't seem to understand this. Read!

Some flights with Qantas do code share with Jetstar - make sure you know what your booking for.
