Of course JetStar can fly when there is a typhoon!

Flying in September 2009 from Hanoi to Danang. Typhoon Ketsana was in Danang, blowing everything away. While Vietnam Airlines coancelled all its flights, even the ones going to HCMC, Jetstar decided to go.

20 minutes before going down to Danang the pilot told us to fasten our seat belts because it might be a bit windy. Most passengers did not know about the typhoon, most of them being tourists. The plane went down, and when it reached 10 metres above the ground (I could see the palm trees bending with the wind), it shook so hard, went on the left, went on the right, and when I thought that was the end of my life, the pilot accelerated again, and we were flying back to Hanoi...

Thanks for risking all our lives Jetstar, that should be written in the customers services chart!

That's been their practice

That's been their practice since they were PACIFIC AIR, Vietnam Air flights out of HCMC were canceled into Nha Trang during the rainy season or delayed for a few hours depending on the weather, however the PACIFIC Flights left and then came back spending almost 3 hours in the air for what was meant to be a 45 minute flight, this happened on many occasions.
