I book a flight with an agent and was sent from Brisbane to Cairns by Virgin Australia. The flight was great. The seating was great, the flight attendants were great and the plain was spotless. I was returning from Cairns to Brisbane on Jetstar. This was a nightmare. First of all I was expected to purchase my baggage amount ahead of time. How could you possibly know. If you guess 20 kg and you bring 15kg the airline wins because you don't use the amount of luggage. If you guess too little they charge you a ridiculous rate. So the airline wins no matter what you state. This should be illegal and challenged in court. I ended up paying $225 excess baggage fees which was almost the same cost of the ticket. I flew up to Cairns on Virgin Australia with the same baggage and wasn't charged. Then we got on the plane. It was filthy and I took pictures of the floor. There were cookies, wrappers etc on the floor. Then the flight attendant was showing off the flotation device and it was trully filthy and grungy. I have never flown on such a disgusting airline and I have flows on Russian Aeroflot and it wasn't this bad. Someone has got to look into the way this airline operates. PLEASE

I was flying from Cairns to Sydney and was my first time to take Jetstar. I was getting ready and stayed in line, there was a lady checking all the carry on of all the passengers stopping all of them. When its my turn, she weight my carry on and my purse of course its over 7 kilos and she charged me AUS 50.00. I was so upset and I told the lady that it was my first time and my last time to fly Jetstar. I have to carry my medications and of course extra clothes just in case there will be flight delay. My flight back home is about 21 hours total so I have to be prepared. Anyway, there was anothet lady that was upset because she paid AUS 50.00 too.
